Congrats Season 5...

For anyone who loyally follows Project Runway, I hope that you would agree that this fifth season has been entertaining, yes, but not nearly as impressive as past seasons. In the show's past, we have seen beautiful, chic garments from Austin Scarlett, Santino Rice, Nick Verreos, Rami Kashou, and Christian Siriano. However, the contestants on this fifth season haven't shown much innovation (or even good taste) whatsoever. But that all changed last night with the "Fashion That Drives You" challenge when the remaining designers had to construct a garment entirely made of auto parts. This seemed like the setup for more disastrous outfits and another reason to think, "how did these people get onto the show?"

Well, thank you designers! After watching the beautiful clothes on the runway, I was happy to admit I had spoken too soon. Here you see Leanne's winning garment, which is made completely out of black leather from a car's interior and is lined with frayed pieces of seat belt. It is refreshing to see this beautiful, sophisticated, and raw talent put to use! THIS is what gets you to New York Fashion Week.
